Write to Us About Your Own Grand Mistake

Ned’s Folly is a shared archive of creative failure, and we welcome letters from readers who have a story to tell, a correction to offer, or a question about the essays. Reach us by post, phone, or email — we read everything and reply to most things within a few days.

Channels for Different Kinds of Mail

To help us route your message to the right person, here is what each channel is best suited for.

  • Essay pitches and long-form submissions — send by email with a short outline and your working title.

  • Reader folly confessions — these can be anonymous; just note that in your message and we will keep it that way.

  • Bookshop suggestions and corrections — a quick email is fine, or call during office hours if you prefer to talk it through.

File a Folly Confession

Every great failure begins as a small misstep. Tell us about the project that went sideways, the recipe that collapsed, or the design that missed the mark. Our editors read every submission and may feature your story in an upcoming essay.

Finding the Folly

The editorial office sits above a former print shop in Thabisoshire, a short walk from the old market square. We keep the door open on weekday afternoons for readers who want to drop off a folly confession in person or simply argue about the merits of a well-intentioned disaster.

Thabisoshire Central is a fifteen-minute walk from the office. Follow Station Road toward the market square, turn onto Pule Plaza at the old clock tower, and look for the navy-blue door with the burnt-orange sign.

The entrance is step-free, and the ground-floor reading room is wheelchair accessible. If you are visiting for a salon evening, let us know in advance and we will reserve a seat near the fireplace.
